Two years now since the Lord had laid upon us the dream of JeremiahCry Ministries. Why you may ask, the name Jeremiah Cry? It is an amazing name once you begin to study biblical names and there meanings.God had given me the name “JeremiahCry” while walking to class one day, it just popped into my mind.
I thought, wow… that sounds like a cool name, and decided to use it. Later, I searched the word of God to study the life of Jeremiah to see if what was so significant about the name Jeremiah, and why the word “Cry” would be a great asset to the title as well. I found out that the name Jeremiah meant in Hebrew “God will raise up” or “Exalted by God.” The meaning was simple yet profound. God would be the one who would raise up this ministry, and it would not be by the hand of man, but God Himself. (Jeremiah’s example inspires Christians to persevere in proclaiming the gospel even when it is not popular, and even when being ridiculed, as well as to trust that even when disaster strikes, God has long-range plans for the restoration of his people.)The word “Cry” is associated with “lamenting”, or “crying out”. I believe this is a key point to this word being used. We as the body of Christ must become “The Voice of one crying out in the wilderness.” We have compromised for too long! We have just stood by and remained silent while the enemy tramples upon our marriages, upon our homes, upon our children, upon our schools, and tramples upon our nation and upon the people of God!!! JeremiahCry Ministries has been “raised up” by the hand of God to “Cry” out against the wickedness of this depraved and wicked world. To Cry out, to herald the “Good News” of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We can no longer pretend that nothing is wrong, we have paid dearly for our apathy and indifference. Oh, how we must heed the warning of Scripture when the bible speakes of becoming “Luke warm.” I am tired of all the hoopla, all the obnoxious behavior we see demonstrated today in the church. Where are all the “Prophets’ of God today? We have got every program on the planet when it comes to Church activities, while many remain inactiveand indifferent to the commands of Christ and and eternity. We’ve got “Bowling with Boys,” “Golfing with the guys,” “Fishing with the fellows, but what about the “Army of God?” God is calling for prayer warriors, not weekend warriors, TRUTH tellers, not fortune tellers! Lets come together as the Church of Christ and go to war! Let’s unite for Christ, but not at the expense of compromising the truth to do so. JeremiahCry Ministries is a ministry not only to reach the Lost, but a ministry to exalt and to glorify God above all. We are not only given the mandate to proclaim the word of God, but to train up and disciple others to do it as well. This is why we exist as a ministry.
What first started off as a desire to win the lost became an obsession not only to see the lost won to Christ, but to see believers trained up and equipped, fulfilling their God ordained assignment.
Also, I sense that God has called this ministry to be kind of a “Wooden Spoon” to stir up the church. This wooden spoon may come in the form of what might be labeled as “confrontational”, calling for massive reform within the church.
Realizing that there was an anointing that could only be attained outside of the church, and this anointing was established through the preaching of the gospel out doors. This unusual power was laid upon the servant of Christ while heralding the “good news” in the midst of darkness and corruption. God revealed a powerful principle at work.
The principle is this, God injects the very necessary ingredients into the faithful ones who declare the gospel to the lost.
These ingredients are then taken back into the church where this power infuses the church to rise and take action. The aroma of Christ gets all over the body, calling here to take action. This power that is associated with the preaching of the gospel outside the church is the medicine needed within the church, You cannot have one without the other. It becomes the exact “pin Code”, matching God’s divine design for all believers. Do not expect power within the church if your not demonstrating God’s power outside of the church.
Wesley, Whitfield, Edwards all understood this powerful principle. They understood that if they were going to see the move of God within the four walls of their church, they needed to be outside of the four walls of their church to receive that power. Today, as the body of Christ we must take drastic action. We must get back to the primary reason of why we exist as the Church of Jesus Christ. The reason we exist is to glorify God through the preaching the gospel.
