ESSENTIAL CONVICTIONS
Evangelism and the Power of God
All men of every culture are born dead in sin, and enemies of God. The conversion of a man and the advancement of the kingdom are an absolute impossibility apart from the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit in the regeneration of the individual and the life of the church.
The Sufficiency of Scripture
The Scriptures are the source and standard for our doctrine, ethics, and ministry. In this, we mean that the Scriptures are not only inspired and infallible, but they are also sufficient. They are all that is needed so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
The Necessity of Prayer
The impossible work of Evangelism can be accomplished only through the power and wisdom of God. Therefore, prayer must be at the forefront of all our evangelistic endeavors.
The Proclamation of the True Gospel
The Gospel is the power of God for salvation (Romans 1:16), and the preaching of the Gospel is the great “means” by which God has prescribed in His Word in redeeming His elect from His wrath. The Gospel is, first and foremost, God in Christ reconciling the world to Himself (2 Corinthians 5:19). It answers the eternal question of how a just God can rightly justify wicked men (Romans 3:26). It points to Christ alone, who bore the sins of His people upon the cross, was forsaken of God, and crushed under the full force of His just wrath against sin. The Good News of the Gospel is that Christ’s death satisfied the justice of God and won salvation for a great multitude of people. This is evidenced by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead – “He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification” (Romans 4:25). We are also under the strong conviction that the role of gospel preaching is given to men. We believe the scriptures teach that Evangelism flows from out from the Local Church to the world. It is not fragmented, and in parts as seen in much of today’s evangelistic efforts. We are under the conviction that preaching is an ordinance and calling that comes from God and is seen and directed by those who are Leaders in the Church. We believe that God ordained leadership within the Church to be given to men, and the preaching of His Word, whether indoors or outdoors is a position given to men based upon (I Timothy 2:11-15). We see the pulpit, not as a piece of wood, but wherever the preacher stands to proclaim God’s Word.
The Gospel Transcends Culture
The greatest need of all men of every culture is the clear proclamation of the Gospel. Men are saved through the Gospel and grow in sanctification through the full counsel of God’s Word. Although differences in culture should be considered, it is more important for the missionary to be biblically sensitive than culturally sensitive.
The Autonomious and Central Local Church
While JeremiahCry Ministries works in partnership with the Local Church, their leaders, and missionaries, it is our non-negotiable theological conviction that each local congregation is independent, autonomous, and directly accountable to and under the headship of Jesus Christ. Consequently, we are careful to respect, uphold, and affirm the autonomy of our partner churches. JeremiahCry exist to promote the preaching of the Gospel by those called and sent from their Local Church. Working together to see the work of the great commission fulfilled..
OUR VISION
The primary vision of JeremiahCry ministries is the advancement of the Kingdom of God through the public proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We seek to restore the biblical view of Christ-centered evangelism through reformational preaching, making a stark contrast with the man-centered pragmatism of our day seen in unbiblical gimmicks and the dualistic mindset of weekend outreaches. The Evangelist should be viewed as one with a specific gifting and calling by God (Eph 4:11), one who has been sent out by the church with a purpose of preaching the Gospel, calling all people everywhere to repent and believe.
JeremiahCry does not operate as a local church, nor do we assume the role of a local church. Rather each staff member is accountable to, and operates under the authority of their own respective local churches. The local church is essential and integral to every Christian ministry. Consequently,no para-church organization can ever assume the responsibility of autonomous local churches. We are guided as a ministry by our mission statement, doctrinal confession and creeds, and essential convictions.
JeremiahCry Ministries seeks to be an asset to the body of Christ in three distinct but inter-related areas; Public Proclamation, Media Resource and Local Training.
The men of JeremiahCry regularly engage in open-air preaching, but the ministry also seeks to provide frequent opportunities such as preaching tours and mission trips for the purpose of evangelization through public proclamation.
Our media resources provide doctrinally sound, Gospel-centered media in the form of print, audio and video resources pertaining to or related to the public proclamation.
We believe every evangelist must be able to rightly divide the Word of God, preach the Gospel, defend the faith, teach and disciple, as well as train others to do the same. Zeal without knowledge is dangerous, therefore men must be equipped to preach (1 Peter 3:15). By God’s grace, we seek to accomplish this task by helping pastors and teachers train those within their churches who have been gifted and called to preach, as well as through our more formal medium of training, “The Herald Society Training Academy and Conference”.
